Romantic, handcrafted, and surprisingly contemporary.
Crochet dresses are absolutely in style and are considered a major must-have hot-summer fashion trend. Embracing both artisanal heritage and modern design, they are a staple on resort runways and in everyday street style: from breezy, open-knit vacation pieces to sleek, ankle-length silhouettes and delicate, lacy bridal or evening wear.
Many of them are versatile enough for city wear; if that's your intention, choose options that resemble everyday attire for better coverage while navigating the urban landscape.
One of the most beautiful pieces is "The Napperon dress" from Jacquemus.
Created in collaboration with the collective “Les Mains de Mamie”, based in Marseille, the piece celebrates a transmitted craftsmanship. The artisans, experts in crochet, designed a unique dress inspired by the Provençal summers dear to Simon.
Completed in nearly 140 hours, the piece was developed through a close dialogue between the Maison and the collective, from the initial sketch to the final assembly.
The creation draws from a domestic and universal vocabulary, echoing the spirit of “LE PAYSAN,” where garments and rural craftsmanship are reinterpreted through a modern lens. Doilies, traditionally found on Provençal family tables, become material.
From this exploration emerges a composition of round and square elements, designed in-house and assembled in a patchwork that sculpts the silhouette. The everyday object is transformed into an exceptional garment.
We are bringing You the most beautiful pieces of heritage and craft on the market.
