Whether considering a safari or the Mongolian prairies, we have chose to stay within the Europe and jump for horseback ride through France, complemented by a glass of wine or champagne.

There are five different tours on offer through France:

A Week of Horses, Vineyards and French Indulgence

This week-long riding holiday takes you from the forested slopes and plateaus of the Montagne de Reims to the glorious Marne Valley and across to the chalk-covered ridge of the Côte des Blancs. For those of you who aren’t well-versed in all things Champagne, this translates as a tour through some of the best vineyards in the region!

Provence - where luxury, learning and majestic horses come together

A deeply personal riding experience in Provence, shaped by exceptional Lusitano-cross horses, thoughtful instruction, and a setting that invites you to explore, indulge, and unwind. Anchored at an elegant stud and extending to the Camargue and, in season, the Luberon, this horse riding holiday is inspiring, educational, and quietly transformative.

Ride the Magical White Horses of the Camargue

In the wide-open marshes of the Camargue region in southern France, you’ll ride through a land shaped by wild white horses, powerful black bulls and the centuries-old traditions of the Bon family and their fellow gardians. Between saddle time and culture-steeped comforts at the family’s 17th-century farmhouse hotel, you’ll discover a truly unforgettable window into the region’s passions, history and wild, salt-soaked spirit.

The Loire Valley as You’ve Never Seen It – Between Two Pricked Ears

Seeing the Loire Valley between two pricked ears will be an experience to treasure forever. The history here is palpable at every turn, from the cobbled villages to the ancient forests to the castles that seem to appear like magic wherever you look.

Where Horses, History and World-Class Wine Meet

The Bordeaux Wine Trail will steal your hearts with its point-to-point adventure, where each day brings new landscapes, sunshine-filled picnic stops, generous opportunities to trot and canter, and the chance to see this ancient wine region unfold between two pricked ears. With knowledgeable French guides, dreamy trail horses and tastings of world-class wines along the way, this ride is an irresistible blend of culture, history and pure Globetrotting magic.

Founded by Kate Pilcher Globetrotting began twenty years ago, thanks to a quarter-life crisis. Kate turned 25 and went on a 10-day horseback riding safari in the Maasai Mara in Kenya, where I was mesmerized by the wildebeest migration while riding a safari horse. It was this crazy, colorful, life experience that led her to walk away from her job (Salt magazine), boyfriend (now husband Steven, who is a very patient man), take out a mortgage, and escape to a remote 100,000-acre estate in Patagonia, accessible only by horse.

Arrive as a solo globetrotter and you may begin as a stranger, but you’ll leave with friends for life. Our riders are all cut from the same cloth: a deep, unshakeable love for horses and adventure. This shared passion transcends culture, creed, and age. (Photo: Curtesy by globetrotter.co)
