It is within this lineage that Roger Vivier presents Atelier Animalier, unveiled during Paris Haute Couture Week Spring–Summer 2026 at Maison Vivier.
Created under the visionary guidance of Gherardo Felloni, the collection goes beyond a simple showcase; it embodies a cultural moment, a dialogue between the archive and modernity, instinct and creativity, memory and reinvention.
This aligns with the publication of the new monograph Roger Vivier: Heritage and Imagination by Rizzoli, which further cements the Maison’s legacy in couture history. Atelier Animalier explores animalier not just as a decorative motif, but as a language deeply embedded in instinct, movement, sensuality, and transformation.
For Monsieur Vivier, animalier symbolized power and elegance, serving as a way to express the untamed energy of femininity. Beginning in the 1960s, he employed leopard, zebra, and giraffe patterns to portray a woman’s duality: her softness and strength, her mystery and presence.
