After just two years at Carven Louise Trotter had been tipped to succeed Matthieu Blazy at Bottega Veneta. Before that she baked her art of craft at the Lacoste and Jose. However, she is now speaking Bottega’s language with her debut collection at the end of September 2025.

Emphasizing the importance of intrecciato leather, not just in terms of clothing. She crafted a dazzling array of pieces using Bottega’s signature criss-cross basket-weave nappa strips, ranging from jeans, a shirt, and a matching bandana, to a glossy caban coat, and even a newspaper held by one of her rugged, square-jawed, broad-shouldered male models.

Her aesthetic seamlessly combines exquisite design with sublime craft and her commitment to cultural advocacy aligns beautifully with brand vision. Through her sophisticated lens, Bottega Veneta will continue to celebrate its heritage while preserving modern relevance.

“They were able to create a clear identity without any need for a logo, and I think that takes a certain confidence. You’re not making a statement to be seen – you’re showing who you are,” said Trotter on appointment in 2024.
