Everyone say it is the most beautiful make up. Any true beauty buff would tell you that beyond D&G’s impressive fragrances, the makeup offerings weren’t particularly captivating over the past decade. The luxury Italian fashion house Dolce & Gabbana initially launched its cosmetics collection back in 2009 but later sold that side of the business to Shiseido from 2016 to 2021. In 2022, the company ended its licensing agreement with Shiseido and brought the development, manufacturing, and operations of its Beauty Division under direct control at its Milan headquarters. This move marked the first time in its history that the company managed these aspects internally.

In 2025. Dolce & Gabbana has raised €150 million in new funding to accelerate the growth of its beauty division. The Italian luxury fashion house is said to have obtained the capital through a private bond placement, with backing from investors including Milan-based fund Algebris, according to Bloomberg. The funds are expected to support both the brand’s beauty division and its broader lifestyle and real estate ventures. This investment aligns with Dolce & Gabbana’s strategic shift towards in-house development of its beauty products.
Dolce & Gabbana (D&G) is on a mission to become the number-one luxury fashion house operating within the beauty sector, planning to grow the retail value of its Beauty Division from €1bn to €3bn (US$3.3bn) by 2026.
This innovation strategy includes new female fragrance pillars, a debut into skin care and the launch of dedicated beauty spaces within existing retail boutiques. Plus, a complete overhaul of its make-up offering to seamlessly blend the brand's fashion identity with the latest cosmetics trends and high-quality Italian ingredients.
“My goal is very humble - I want professional immortality. My role is to translate Stefano and Domenico’s (the founders of D&G) ideas into concrete projects that better represent the brand in the beauty category. I want everyone in the industry to remember when D&G Beauty decided to branch out from the norm, and who the leader of that successful project was," says Gianluca Toniolo, CEO of D&G Beauty.
