For Christian Dior Couture’s Autumn Winter 2026-2027 collection, Creative Director Jonathan Anderson turned a walk through the park into a performance. Using the Jardin des Tuileries, a stage for seeing and being seen since its opening to visitors in 1667, as his inspiration and setting, the collection and scenography blurred the boundaries between the real and the artificial.

The Maison’s creative director drew inspiration from the theater of Parisian life and the role played by fashion on this elegant stage. A walk through the park becomes a procession of models.

Splashes of color highlighted a palette dominated by pearl gray, a poetic welcome of the impending spring. Daffodil yellow brushes against powdered rose. 3D flowers bloom on the basques of a jacket or through vibrant, multicolored fabrics. Brooches and pumps revisit the sculptural grace of water lilies, and a frog-shaped minaudière playfully nods to the garden’s silent statues. Ruffles on skirts imitate petals, ribbons and feathers waft in the wind.

Embroideries and balloon pants shimmer in the sun. Layered lace flows into delicate trains or slips beneath revisited Bar jackets. Cascades of buttons that stream down to the shoes echo the spray from the Tuileries fountains. Exquisite work around the collars highlights the neckline, while satin lapels on coat-dresses reveal a graceful décolleté.

In this subtle play of appearances, the mundane spectacle of society cedes to a deeper meaning of fashion. With each new season, fashion embodies characters to reinvent itself without ever losing sight of its personality.
