In an industry focused on constant reinvention, Pieter Mulier stays dedicated to evolution of modern women.
Alaïa has consistently been a brand characterized by purity and intimacy, with its striking beauty stemming from simplicity. Mulier has upheld this philosophy, with each collection expanding on the previous one, forming a cohesive, sculptural body of work. Spring/Summer 2026 season appeared to be a dialogue between past and future, balancing Azzedine's practicality with Mulier's contemporary sensibility.
The collection is streamlined, sculptural, and meticulously

precise, but within this minimalism was a tension of being stretched to extremes. Intense colors and striking, bold shapes imparted a dramatic physical presence to the clothing. Crafted from only four materials- cotton, python, leather, and silk-the scope of expression was remarkably broad.
The collection exhibited a consistent theme, directly paying homage to Azzedine himself. His wardrobe, influenced by workwear, defined his perspective on clothing as practical tools for everyday life. However, this collection blended practicality with imagination. Long fringes moved like kinetic sculptures beneath cotton jackets zipped at the back, and leather coats resembling tabards exposed glimpses of bare skin. Bibbed jerseys cascaded like waterfalls over asymmetrical silk skirts that appeared to float and shift with movement.
Cocoon-like jumpsuits and stocking dresses wrapped and twisted around the body, with skirt stirrups fastened to heels. Every piece appeared stretched, held up by surprising points, as if the garments themselves were caught in motion, twisting around the body.
A Parisian fashion maison with a couture soul, Alaïa was established in 1964 by namesake founder Azzedine Alaïa. Its reputation is built on a distinctive vision and unique quality of craftsmanship.
Today, a reverence for sculptural cuts and the beauty of femininity continues under Pieter Mulier. The first creative director appointed at the maison since its founder, Mulier perpetuates Alaïa's quest for perfection and modernity. Share in the brand's passion for arts with its iconic knitwear and shape-driven creations that are sculpted directly on the bodies of its models.
